Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse, Virtual Care, you will be responsible for:
- Providing virtual nursing care to a diverse population of patients using remote monitoring technology software and related electronic health records.
- Working in partnership with Clinical Nurses and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care planning and ensure that patients receive high-quality care.
- Coaching and mentoring novice nurses to develop their clinical reasoning skills.
- Independently and in partnership with Clinical Nurses, recognizing subtle changes in patient condition and assisting in modifying the plan of care accordingly.
- Initiating emergency action in response to acute risk situations and responding in a timely way to alarms and communicating/reporting abnormalities promptly to Clinical Nurses.
- Using patient biometric, physiological, and vital sign data to provide and evaluate nursing care that promotes goal-directed change and achieves optimal patient outcomes.
- Communicating changes in patient condition and actual and potential problems concerning patients, families, and staff to Clinical Nurses.
- Independently and in partnership with Clinical Nurses, evaluating and monitoring the effectiveness of interventions and progress toward outcomes for patients.
- Initiating interdisciplinary collaboration in evaluation of patient progress and identifying and facilitating individualized patient needs for transfer/discharge.
- Documenting in the electronic health record and all event-associated communications with highest quality.
- Managing advanced knowledge of electronic health records and all associated software and applications, and able to troubleshoot minor technical challenges.
Requirements
Education
- Diploma Program in Nursing required.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Work Experience
- 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse required.
Licenses and Certifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse upon hire required.
- Registered Nurse Multi-State License upon hire required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire required.
- Current certification may be required for specific areas of nursing practice, such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.
