About the Role: Speech Language Pathologist-PD

We're seeking an experienced and skilled Speech Language Pathologist with a specialization in Pediatric Development (PD) to join our team on a part-time per diem basis. As a Speech Language Pathologist-PD, you'll play a vital role in evaluating and treating students with speech and language disorders, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' speech and language needs, developing effective intervention plans to meet their educational goals.
  • Implement and modify treatment plans as needed, ensuring they align with regulatory guidelines and department standards.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and professional documentation, records, and reports, adhering to educational and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with students' child study teams, teachers, families, paraprofessionals, district and non-district therapists, CST staff, contract coordinators, supervisors, and offsite directors to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in required meetings, including school team meetings, student IEP meetings, CST meetings, and other necessary gatherings, demonstrating flexibility in your schedule to accommodate these commitments.
  • Meet IEP mandates and ensure that all services are educationally based and delivered in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or a related field, with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Current licensure in the State of New Jersey or Speech Language Specialist Certification, or completion of a Department of Education-approved retraining program certification.
  • CPR certification and school certification by the NJ Department of Education.
  • Valid driver's license (may be required).
  • Educationally based pediatric experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and department standards for speech language pathology services.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong evaluation and intervention skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with attention to detail and organizational abilities.
