Key Responsibilities
As a Principal Engineer - Data Analytics & Data Science, your primary responsibilities will include:

- Focusing on business needs through a data-driven approach and investigating opportunities to improve automation, reliability, and monitoring for deployed products.
- Setting the strategic vision for data examination and reporting, aligning with organizational objectives, and providing leadership in guiding the overall direction of data examination technical initiatives.
- Designing, developing, and optimizing complex data models and reporting structures, driving the design and implementation of flexible and efficient data analysis and reporting architectures.
- Ensuring the integrity, security, and performance of data products and reporting solutions by collaborating with platforms, data architecture, and administration teams.
- Defining and implementing the long-term technical strategy for data examination, incorporating emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and evaluating their relevance to the organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive data solutions.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A demonstrated history with at least 15+ years of hands-on experience in data examination and reporting roles.
- 5+ years of experience in leadership or senior roles, showcasing the ability to effectively guide and lead a team.
- 5+ years of experience working with Cloud technologies, such as ADLS, Azure Databricks, Spark, Azure Synapse, Universe DB, DBT, and other big data technologies.
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency in data analysis tools, languages, ML, and frameworks (e.g., Cosmos, PowerBI, SQL, Python, R).
- Proficiency in data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to effectively communicate insights.
- Demonstrated expertise in working with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, to design and implement flexible and efficient data analysis solutions.
- In-depth understanding and practical application of Lakehouse architecture principles, combining the best of data lakes and data warehouses for powerful and flexible data management.
- Advanced SQL skills, with a strong understanding of relational databases and business data, and the ability to write complex SQL queries against multiple data sources.
- Experience managing high-volume and high-velocity data streams, and designing systems that can handle the demands of real-time or near-real-time analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Relevant industry certifications are a plus.
- Experience in retail, manufacturing, e-commerce, or supply chain management.
