Key Responsibilities and Expectations
As an IT Support Intern, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to our team members, ensuring seamless operation of our systems and equipment
- Provisioning, deploying, and supporting user-facing hardware and software in a cross-platform environment, including Linux, macOS, and Windows
- Collaborating with our systems engineers to design and implement elegant technical solutions, enhancing our overall system efficiency and productivity
- Developing and maintaining documentation of our systems, processes, and procedures, ensuring knowledge sharing and continuity
- Participating in ongoing training and professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Familiarity with Linux, or other UNIX-like operating systems, and/or macOS, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Ability to troubleshoot open-ended technical issues, thinking critically and creatively to resolve complex problems
- Experience using email, calendar, and common productivity tools such as Google Docs, Slack, etc.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to lift and manipulate objects weighing up to 40 lbs, working in awkward locations such as data centers, theater projection booths, and under desks
Preferred Qualifications and Bonus Points
While not required, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable:
- Experience at a helpdesk or similar support environment, with a proven track record of providing excellent customer service
- Experience using Jamf Pro, or similar software for Apple device management, with a strong understanding of mobile device management principles
- Experience writing shell scripts, or programming in a higher-level language such as Python or Ruby, with a passion for coding and software development
- Experience with Windows and/or iOS devices, with a broad understanding of cross-platform compatibility and integration
Eligibility and Requirements
To be eligible for this internship, you must:
- Be a junior in college, working towards a degree in a related field, such as computer science, information technology, or a similar discipline
- Be returning to school in the fall, with a strong academic record and a demonstrated commitment to your field of study
- Be available to work full-time, onsite, from May 19, 2025, to August 8, 2025, with a willingness to adapt to our dynamic work environment
- Already possess the legal authorization to work in the US, with a valid visa or citizenship
