Key Responsibilities

As an Instructional Support Associate, Mathematics, you will play a critical role in maintaining the daily operations of our discipline-specific center, providing exceptional support to students in mathematics and related fields. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individualized and group tutoring sessions to students, helping them to understand and apply mathematical concepts
  • Developing and implementing innovative tutoring strategies and materials to enhance student learning outcomes
  • Collaborating with faculty and staff to identify areas where students require additional support and developing targeted interventions
  • Maintaining accurate records of student interactions, including attendance, progress, and outcomes
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in mathematics education and tutoring

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in mathematics, or a related field, along with tutorial/teaching experience in the appropriate subject area in an educational setting
  • OR an Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education with two (2) years of related professional work experience
  • OR an AA with an earned College Reading Learning Association or Association of Coaching and Tutoring Profession associate tutor certification
  • Ability to independently travel to various campuses and other locations for College business

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience working in a higher education setting, particularly in a tutoring or academic support role
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics curriculum and pedagogy, including experience with online learning platforms and educational software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail
