Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at Sanford Health Broadway Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. As a critical care nurse, you will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized care to patients with complex medical and surgical needs. Our ICU is an 18-bed unit that cares for a variety of patients, including those with oncology, kidney transplant, and bone marrow transplant needs. As an Academic Teaching Facility, you can expect to receive education and experience with a wide range of patients and conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Collaborate with physicians and other inter-professional colleagues to plan and implement care
- Provide individualized nursing care to patients, including education, triage, and various nursing interventions
- Function within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in the state of practice and licensure
- Participate in professional development opportunities, including education, committee service, and training to become a preceptor or rapid response nurse
Essential Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program required
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possesses multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred

- Previous experience in critical care or ICU nursing
- Certification in critical care nursing (CCRN) or other relevant specialty certification
- Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
