Indian Country / Alaska Native Corporations & Government Contracting Associate – Anchorage, AK
Direct Counsel is seeking an Associate Attorney to join a leading regional firm with a strong reputation in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. This full-time position is ideal for a candidate interested in a practice focused on Indian Country, Alaska Native Corporations, and government contracting, within the firm’s broader Business & Transactions department.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support clients in the Indian Country and Alaska Native Corporations industry group
• Advise on matters related to government contracting and transactional law
• Conduct legal research, draft contracts and documents, and provide strategic counsel
• Collaborate with colleagues across offices while managing matters with autonomy
Qualifications:
• JD and admission to the Alaska State Bar (or eligible for immediate reciprocity)
• At least 1 year of transactional legal experience
• Familiarity with federal Indian law and/or Alaska Native Corporations is highly preferred
• Knowledge of government contracting issues and frameworks
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage work independently and collaboratively
• Strong academic credentials and client service focus
Compensation & Benefits:
• Salary range: $155,000–$185,000, depending on experience
• Annual productivity and merit-based bonus potential

Work Environment:
