About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our exceptional team at Baylor University Medical Center. As an OR RN, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, value-based care to our patients, working closely with our world-renowned medical professionals. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced operating room environment
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Implement and evaluate nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to drive excellence in patient care
  • Mentor and support new team members to promote a culture of learning and growth
  • Utilize evidence-based practice to inform nursing decisions and improve patient outcomes

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an operating room setting
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • BSN or higher degree in nursing
  • Specialty certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR)
  • Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare technology
  • Leadership or mentorship experience
  • Participation in quality improvement initiatives or research studies
