Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Store Associates and Stockers to join our dynamic team. As a Retail Store Associate and Stocker, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including cashiering, customer service, truck unloading, stocking, merchandise recovery, and light cleaning or maintenance. You will work closely with our store leadership team to ensure that our customers receive exceptional service, and that our store is always well-stocked and maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers as needed to maintain the highest level of customer service, responding to their queries and resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain and operate point-of-sale systems efficiently and accurately, handling cash, credit card transactions, and returns with precision and attention to detail.
  • Drive customer loyalty program participation, including sign-ups and rewards processing at check-out, to increase customer engagement and retention.
  • Participate in the freight flow process, including truck unloading, stocking, merchandise presentation, and recovery, to ensure that our store is always well-stocked and visually appealing.
  • Participate in furniture department operations, including carry-outs and display assembly as needed, to provide excellent customer service and maintain a safe and clean shopping environment.
  • Maintain the appearance of the store's interior and exterior to company standards, including light maintenance duties and cleaning, to create a positive and welcoming shopping experience for our customers.
  • Perform daily front-end maintenance, including check stand cleanliness, replenishment of merchandise and supplies, and floor safety, to ensure a safe and clean shopping environment.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Store Leadership, such as cart retrieval, shrink control, and safety-related tasks, to support the overall success of our store.

Essential Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills required, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support the needs of our store and customers.
  • Prior retail experience preferred, with a strong understanding of customer service principles and practices.
  • Previous experience operating a cash register preferred, with the ability to handle cash, credit card transactions, and returns with precision and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds required, with the ability to unload freight, move product on and off of store shelves, and move freely throughout the store on a continual basis.
  • Basic English literacy and math skills required, with the ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with a strong foundation in customer service, communication, and teamwork.
  • Previous experience in a retail environment preferred, with a strong understanding of store operations, customer service, and visual merchandising.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and maintain a high level of productivity.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally.
