Job Summary

We are currently hiring a Part-Time Teacher/Tutor to join our team at Sylvan Learning of Western Carolinas and Midlands of SC. As a Part-Time Teacher/Tutor, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children by providing individualized learning experiences that cater to their unique needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Teach reading, math, writing, study skills, and/or ACT/SAT Test Prep to students in a small group setting (3 or 4:1)
  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in education
  • Collaborate with other instructors to share ideas and best practices
  • Manage time effectively to meet the needs of multiple students and families

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
  • Current or expired teaching license from any state
  • Passion for teaching and making a difference in the lives of children
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work a variety of schedules, including afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a educational setting
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instructional methods
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with technology and educational software
