Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Regional or Area Sales Leader, the Licensed Mortgage Associate works to ensure the integrity of the customer experience and will provide essential administrative, marketing, and sales support to the designated sales team. He/she performs duties related to processing mortgage loan applications and mortgage loan documentation, with an intense focus on the customer experience. The role’s primary duties are centered around supporting the assigned mortgage consultant, communicating with all stakeholders, gathering documentation from third parties and customers, placing/reviewing documentation, and performing other sales related duties.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks, including filing, typing, and data entry as assigned.
  • Support marketing initiatives by preparing promotional materials, identifying potential customers, and analyzing market trends to create sales literature.
  • Respond to general client inquiries on behalf of the Mortgage Consultant.
  • Assist in gathering necessary documentation from borrowers to ensure complete submissions to Underwriting.
  • Follow up with customers and vendors, as directed, to verify that all files are in order.
  • Order/obtain credit reports, appraisals, condo questionnaires, and other property-related documents, as needed.
  • Conduct preliminary reviews of loan files to ensure compliance with investor guidelines and approval criteria.
  • Complete setup instructions by reviewing borrower documentation (pay stubs, credit reports, bank statements, and W2s) for accuracy.
  • Perform follow-up tasks necessary to meet closing deadlines, including communication with title and insurance companies, the branch closing department, and customers, along with post-closing follow-ups.
  • Adhere to all industry regulations, requirements, and applicable state/federal laws in relation to job duties.
  • Originate residential mortgage loans as necessary.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

 Minimum Requirements:

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum requirements. An individual must be able to perform the essential responsibilities of the position satisfactorily. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Must currently possess an NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator license or obtain such licensure within ninety (90) days of hire date.  This is a minimum requirement for this position and cannot be waived.
  • Previous customer service experience, ideally in the mortgage or financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage products, processes, and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with a diverse clientele.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experienced with CRM software.  Experience using Encompass preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment to meet production and quality goals.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Must comply with industry-related regulations, requirements, and state/federal laws.
