Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Remote Customer Service Representative to become an integral part of our team. As a Remote Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding customer service to our policyholders. Your primary objective will be to respond to inquiries, clarify policy details, update claim statuses, assist with claim payments, and provide comprehensive policy information. You will handle inbound calls from policyholders and authorized third parties, operating in a non-sales capacity and ensuring that all customer interactions are professional and timely.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a significant volume of inbound calls, averaging between 70 to 120 calls per day, and ensure that all customer inquiries are resolved in a timely and professional manner.
- Communicate effectively with policyholders, providers, and other stakeholders, providing clear and concise information and ensuring that all parties are informed and up-to-date.
- Stay current with new and updated procedures regarding policy information, ensuring that you have the knowledge and expertise to provide accurate and comprehensive support to our policyholders.
- Ensure that customer needs are satisfied in each interaction, whether conducted via phone, email, or written correspondence, and that all customers receive an exceptional experience.
- Meet departmental performance standards for call volume, average handling time, and effective time management, and continually strive to improve your performance and efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong oral and written communication skills, as well as proficiency in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office applications. You should be able to multitask and perform efficiently under pressure, with excellent organizational and time management capabilities. A minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute is required, and you should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a high-volume call center or equivalent role (such as receptionist) is mandatory.
- You must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent credential.
- Prior remote work experience is preferred, though not essential, and you should have a reliable internet connection with a minimum speed of 20 Mbps for both upload and download (hard-wired connection).
- A smartphone is necessary for VPN access, and you should have a quiet, professional home office environment that is free from distractions and interruptions.
- For safety purposes, a fire extinguisher must be present in your home workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the insurance industry is advantageous but not a prerequisite, and you should be willing to learn and adapt to our policies and procedures.

Training and Development
At blithequark, we are committed to providing our employees with the training and development they need to succeed. Our comprehensive training program will span 2-3 weeks (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST), and you will need to be available for training between 7:30 AM and 6:30 PM CST on weekdays. Our training is full-time, comprising 40 hours per week, and you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and develop the skills and knowledge you need to excel in this role.
Post-Training Schedule
Following training, you will work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with no weekend shifts required unless overtime opportunities arise. You will have the opportunity to work from the comfort of your own home, with the flexibility to manage your time and workload effectively.
Location
This is a work-from-home position, open to candidates nationwide (excluding applicants from Texas, Florida, New York, California, Hawaii, Washington D.C., New Jersey, Vermont, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Maine, and Wyoming). You should have a reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional home office environment that is free from distractions and interruptions.
