Job Overview

The Advertising Platforms Data Experiences team at blithequark is seeking a skilled Machine Learning Data Scientist to join the Product and Customer Insights Group. As a critical member of a data-driven team, you will drive the analysis, development, implementation, and measurement of analytical solutions that are vital to growing the business. Your primary responsibilities will include turning vast amounts of data generated by user search, app content, and platform settings into business insights that improve the user experience for end-users and drive discovery and efficiency for app developers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement analytical solutions to drive business growth and improve user experience
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, finance, product, and engineering, to drive the analysis, development, and implementation of analytical solutions
• Turn vast amounts of data into actionable business insights that inform product and service strategies
• Work closely with engineering partners to meet the data needs of the business, translating business requirements into analytical requirements
• Conduct complex quantitative analysis, including regression, classification, clustering, and time-series analysis
• Design and implement A/B testing and experimentation to drive business decisions
• Communicate the results of analyses in a clear and actionable way to product and service teams, influencing the overall strategy of the product

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative field, with at least 6 years of professional experience
• Advanced degrees in these fields are a plus
• Experience in a data science role, ideally in the digital advertising industry or product analytics, with hands-on experience working with clickstream data or A/B testing
• Programming skills in Python and SQL, and experience with AWS, Snowflake, Spark, and Tableau
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional, and continually evolving environment
• Experience with complex quantitative analysis, including regression, classification, clustering, and time-series analysis
• Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing principles
• Practical experience with conducting experiments on large datasets

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep experience with applied techniques, such as predictive modeling, classification, and feature influence estimation
• Experience building reporting dashboards and using those techniques and tools to drive key business insights
• Ability to collaborate with a wide range of data professionals and business leaders, focusing on projects where tools and techniques are used to drive real business value
• Strong understanding of existing data mining algorithms and business intelligence tools, as well as the ability to develop and customize when necessary
