About the Role

We are looking for positive, high-energy professionals who are not just looking for a job, but a meaningful career in customer service. As a Remote Customer Service Associate, you will operate in a claims contact center, assisting customers who need to file an insurance claim. You will be the first voice our customers hear when they need us the most, and you will play a critical role in explaining the claim process, providing status updates, and offering other services to our customers as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to inbound telephone inquiries in a Claims Contact Center, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Initiate auto and homeowner claims by obtaining preliminary loss information from agents, insureds, and third parties.
  • Provide customers with a clear explanation of the claim process, including next steps and expectations.
  • Authorize services such as roadside assistance and rental cars as needed.
  • Efficiently and accurately complete customer inquiries regarding the status of existing claims.
  • Ensure all customer interactions are clearly and accurately documented in the claim file.
  • Maintain job knowledge through intermittent training and learning, incorporating new information into daily tasks.

A Day in the Life

As a Remote Customer Service Associate, your day will be filled with a variety of tasks and challenges. You will be a member of a diverse team of individuals working together to take care of our customers. You will take inbound calls from the comfort of your own home, working a variety of shifts, including early mornings, mid-day, evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will be required to have a dedicated workspace, free of noise and distractions, and you will need to be willing to work non-traditional hours.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience preferred, with a strong focus on verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Remote contact center experience preferred, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Typing skills: 30 WPM, with 90% accuracy, required.
  • Strong technical aptitude, including the ability to master multiple windows simultaneously.
  • Ability to assume personal responsibility for actions and possess flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in insurance claims handling and resolution.
  • Knowledge of insurance policies and procedures.
  • Experience working in a virtual or remote environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.

  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong focus on customer service and support.
