This role involves investigating, evaluating, and resolving claims while ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and laws. Responsibilities: • Investigate, evaluate, and determine compensability of time loss and catastrophic claims. • Calculate average monthly wage, set reserves, and authorize indemnity and medical benefits. • Update claims systems, negotiate settlements, and notify agency loss prevention coordinators. • Monitor diagnosis changes to ensure ICD codes are current for Medicare purposes. • Coordinate with nurse case managers, attorneys, and subrogation specialists. • Identify and coordinate Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs). • Communicate with agency personnel and injured employees; conduct claim management training. • Manage litigation in coordination with the Attorney Generals Office or outside counsel. • Oversee contracted vendors (nurse case managers, investigators, IME services, etc.). Required Skills • 4+ years of claims experience (including indemnity experience). Preferred Skills • Arizona Adjusters License. • Proficiency in Google Suite.
