Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Customer Service Advocate to join our team in a national remote position. As a Customer Service Advocate, you will have the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within the United States, working with our members to address their healthcare concerns, answer questions, and provide support throughout their healthcare journey. This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Listen actively and ask appropriate questions to identify specific questions or issues, documenting inquiries from members regarding medical, vision, dental, pharmacy plan details, plan/program eligibility, and medical claims.
  • Use multiple databases, tools, and partnerships to refer and enroll members in appropriate internal specialists and programs based on their needs.
  • Interpret and translate clinical/medical terminology and coding to assist members in managing costs using simple language.
  • Adapt to communicated changes in process, policy, and guidelines quickly at the site and enterprise level.
  • Educate members about the fundamentals of healthcare benefits and plans, assisting them in maximizing the use of community services, support programs, and resources available.
  • Meet performance goals established for the position in efficiency, call quality, customer satisfaction, first call resolution, schedule adherence, and attendance.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 1+ years of experience in a customer service environment.
  • To be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday during our normal business hours of 8:30 am - 5:00 pm and 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm CST, with occasional overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service environment.
  • Experience in a healthcare insurance environment, particularly with blithequark Benefit Operations.

Telecommuting Requirements

To work remotely with blithequark, you will need:

  • Ability to keep all company-sensitive documents secure (if applicable).
  • A dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • To live in a location that can receive a blithequark-approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
