Job Summary JOB DESCRIPTION The Writer/Editor III, Institutional Funding develops compelling, high-quality written and versatile content that strengthens CRS’ positioning with institutional donors, including foundations, corporations, development banks, multilateral agencies and government donors. S/he is a hands-on writer, editor and content developer who produces a wide range of materials that showcase CRS’ impact, technical excellence and value as a partner. The Writer works closely with Institutional Funding, Global Programs, Leadership Giving, and the Creative and Storytelling teams to translate complex programmatic information into clear, persuasive, donor-ready narratives. Roles And Key Responsibilities • Write, edit and produce high-quality donor-focused content including capacity and positioning statements, briefs, pitch materials, concept notes, factsheets, talking points, project overviews and success stories. • Translate technical program information from Global Programs into clear, concise audience-appropriate language and ensure accuracy and clarity of programmatic content. • Coordinate with the social media and digital teams to shape social media strategy, content creation and/or distribution for Global Programs. • Collaborate with Institutional Funding team members and Regional/Country Program Leadership to produce compelling content to advance donor engagement and strengthen CRS’ positioning with specific institutional donors (e.g., USG and non-USG, foundations, corporations, multilateral agencies) and highlight CRS’ impact, value proposition and sectoral strengths across key program areas. • Support diverse resource mobilization needs, including among private donors, by sharing content and collaborating on projects for richer coordination and alignment of content. • Collaborate with the Content Studio’s creative, design and storytelling units to package content into visually engaging donor materials. • Partner with other Institutional Funding team members and field-based leadership to develop source materials and develop content for Communications for positioning strategies tailored to strategic institutional donors. • Collaborate with storytelling and creative colleagues to support multimedia and visual storytelling efforts aligned with donor needs. • Ensure all content meets CRS editorial standards, brand guidelines, style conventions and accessibility requirements. • Maintain organized content pipelines and support production tracking with concerned teams. • Provide writing and editing support for high-priority organizational needs, including events, donor briefings, and leadership messaging. • Adapt global and regional narratives into donor-specific formats for priority institutional partners. • Produce rapid turnaround content during crises or emergencies to support donor engagement and fundraising needs. • Contribute materials that support global campaigns, strategic initiatives, and cross-agency donor positioning efforts. • Provide guidance, coaching and support to regional and country communications staff as needed. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities • Solid understanding of a variety of audiences: Institutional donors, including government and multilaterals, foundations, and corporations, peer organizations, CRS global and field partnerships, the local and global Church • Ability to transform technical material into accessible, inspirational content tailored to diverse donor audiences. • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Team player • Excellent writing skills with rigorous attention to detail • Self-motivated, proactive, resourceful and productive • Demonstrated ability to produce a high volume of quality content under deadlines • Strong research and analytical skills • Ability to deal effectively with deadlines • Flexible to changing contexts; respectful of guidance by those closest to the issues • Strong training and representation/coaching skills • Active collaborator Required Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English; proficiency in Spanish or French preferred Travel: Must be able to travel up to 15% at a time.   Supervisory Responsibilities: No Qualifications Basic Qualifications  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/ Communication • Minimum 6 years of work experience in marketing strategy and/or communications • Experience working with international non-government organizations and/or institutional donors (government, multi-laterals or foundations) • Experience working overseas preferably in an international organization Preferred Qualifications • Demonstrated portfolio of successfully published articles or projects handled Agency Competencies (for All CRS Staff) • Personal Accountability – Consistently takes responsibility for one’s own actions. • Acts with Integrity - Consistently models values aligned with CRS Guiding Principles and mission.
