About the Role

As a Virtual Customer Service Advisor at blithequark, you will be at the forefront of our patient-centric approach, serving as a vital link between our patients, guarantors, and our healthcare services. Your primary responsibility will be to manage account inquiries through inbound and outbound calls, utilizing your exceptional communication skills to resolve issues efficiently and empathetically. This position requires a unique blend of technical proficiency, as you will be working with multiple account systems and applications, and interpersonal skills, as you will be communicating with patients and guarantors to address their concerns and secure payments on outstanding account balances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with customers via phone or digital media to gather necessary information and resolve account inquiries in accordance with our departmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of patient account information across multiple systems, perform research as needed, and take appropriate actions to resolve patient inquiries and account balances.
  • Document all patient inquiries and actions taken in the appropriate systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with our data management policies.
  • Update or add insurance information and/or patient demographic information as required, and request rebills when necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with patients and guarantors to secure payments on outstanding account balances, utilizing secured payment methods and providing guidance on payment plans when needed.
  • Escalate patient complaints to the appropriate individual or department, based on the nature of the issue, to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Create a positive patient experience by actively listening, understanding their needs, ensuring timely resolution or escalation of their issues, communicating in a friendly and professional manner, and handling all interactions with empathy and respect.
  • Adhere to all blithequark Customer Service Organization (CSO) guidelines and policies, and meet or exceed established departmental performance metrics for production and quality.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of workflow, systems, and tools used in the department, staying updated on any changes or improvements to ensure continuous high-quality service.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess a minimum of one year of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare environment, call center, hospitality, retail sales, or client management role. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable, as it demonstrates your understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in this field. Additionally, you must have high-speed internet with a minimum of 25 MB download and 6 MB upload speed, as this role is conducted remotely and requires reliable connectivity. WiFi is not permitted for this position.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum one-year customer service experience.
  • Previous call center experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • High-speed internet with 25 MB download and 6 MB upload speed (WiFi not permitted).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with patients and their families.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in working with multiple systems and applications, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

  • Experience working in a remote or virtual environment.
  • Familiarity with healthcare billing and insurance processes.
  • Knowledge of compliance guidelines and regulations relevant to healthcare customer service.
