**Experienced Ocean Product Development Specialist – International Freight Forwarding and Logistics**

We're now seeking an experienced Ocean Product Development Specialist to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of our ocean product. **Job Summary:** As an Ocean Product Development Specialist at blithequark, you'll be responsible for executing strategies that support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of our ocean product. You'll work closely with our MD of Ocean, carrier development teams, and other stakeholders to analyze carrier service, routings, carrier performance, and support carrier service issues. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in international freight forwarding and logistics to drive business growth, improve service quality, and minimize risk exposure. **Key Responsibilities:** * Execute strategies to increase ocean volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality * Support carrier development, pricing, and performance analysis * Collaborate with sales and operations teams to communicate direction and deliverables * Direct and indirect customer contact to promote the ocean product and resolve issues * Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are met or exceeded * Analyze and report on performance and competitive activity * Work with the MD, Ocean, and regional ocean management team to promote the ocean product * Manage annual budget and control, monitor, and report results to achieve budget targets * Develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product in collaboration with marketing teams **Essential Qualifications:** * Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., logistics, transportation, business administration) * At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience * Proven expertise in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, and analyzing ocean rates and routing * Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus * Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications * Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills * Strong business acumen and leadership skills **Preferred Qualifications:** * Master's degree or higher in a relevant field * Advanced knowledge of logistics and transportation management systems * Experience with data analysis and reporting tools * Certification in logistics or transportation management (e.g., CLTD, CILT) **Skills and Competencies:** * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment * Strong leadership and interpersonal skills * Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines * Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills * Familiarity with logistics and transportation management systems * Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits:** At blithequark, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
