Job Summary

As a Parks and Recreation Specialist at blithequark, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our park visitors have a positive and enjoyable experience. Your primary responsibilities will include providing excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment within our parks. You will work closely with our maintenance staff, park rangers, and other team members to achieve our goals. Key Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and groups, providing a warm and welcoming experience
• Provide information about blithequark's parks, programs, events, and activities
• Handle cash transactions, including working as a cashier, assisting with set-up and sales, balancing a register, and completing night deposits
• Respond to customer inquiries via in-person interactions, phone calls, and emails, resolving concerns and complaints promptly and professionally
• Direct visitors to appropriate resources for additional information or assistance
• Assist with the registration and renewal of park memberships, program registrations, facility rentals, and merchandise sales
• Educate visitors on park rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience
• Monitor park areas for compliance with safety guidelines, reporting any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate authorities
• Collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure park areas are clean and well-maintained, reporting any maintenance issues or hazards to the appropriate department
• Work collaboratively with other park staff and departments, attending team meetings and training sessions as required
• Assist with administrative duties, such as data entry, filing, and record-keeping, compiling and preparing reports related to customer service activities
• Provide traffic control and preparation for parking lots on special event days and other occasions as required
• Project a positive image in both conduct and appearance, observing and enforcing all blithequark's rules and regulations

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate
• Have a valid driver's license
• Possess excellent customer service and communication skills
• Have a friendly and approachable demeanor
• Be able to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy
• Have basic computer skills for data entry and communication
• Be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
