Nonprofit Funding Consultant (Full-Service)
Role Overview
Global Crypto Energy is building a mission-driven nonprofit that combines clean energy (community solar) with blockchain technology to create social impact. We are looking for a highly experienced Nonprofit Funding Consultant to serve as a strategic partner: someone who can design our funding roadmap, write grants, manage student interns/work-study relationships, build corporate sponsorships, ensure nonprofit compliance, and help structure and run our programs.
This is a full-service consulting role — you will wear many hats and drive our funding and program strategy from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
• Funding Strategy & Planning
• Develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with our vision and long-term goals.
• Identify and prioritize funding sources: government grants, foundations, corporate sponsorships, work-study programs, and more.
• Grant Writing & Management
• Research grant opportunities (local, national, and international) that fit our mission.
• Write grant applications, letters of inquiry, concept notes, and progress or final reports.
• Track grant deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements.
• Intern / Work-Study Program Oversight
• Manage interns, especially those coming through work-study programs.
• Build and maintain relationships with university work-study / student employment offices.
• Coordinate the hiring, onboarding, and daily operations of interns (ensuring their roles align with program goals).
• Corporate Sponsorship & Partnership Development
• Identify potential corporate sponsors and partners aligned with our mission.
• Develop sponsorship proposals, decks, and outreach plans.
• Negotiate sponsorship agreements (deliverables, branding, financials).
• Nonprofit Compliance & Infrastructure
• Help set up or audit our nonprofit legal structure, ensuring 501(c)(3) compliance (or equivalent).
• Establish systems and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for grant management, financial reporting, and internal governance.
• Work with legal or finance advisors (if needed) to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices.
• Program Design & Management
• Organize and design our community solar workforce program: define KPIs, track progress, and ensure alignment with funder requirements.
• Monitor program delivery, assist in budget planning, and coordinate across teams (operations, program, finance).
• Evaluate program impact and suggest improvements.
• Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
• Build and maintain internal tools (dashboards, spreadsheets, CRMs) to track funding, impact metrics, and program performance.
• Generate regular internal reports for leadership and external reports for funders.
• Provide strategic recommendations for scaling, improving funding efficiency, and enhancing program reach.
Qualifications & Experience
• Deep experience in nonprofit fundraising and consulting, particularly with grant writing.
• Proven track record in building and executing fundraising strategies.
• Experience managing interns or work-study programs, and working with universities.
• Strong project management skills; comfortable juggling multiple workstreams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication: grant proposals, sponsorship decks, reports.
• Understanding of nonprofit legal structure, compliance, and financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently as a consultant, set priorities, and deliver high-quality work.
• Preferred: Experience in clean energy, sustainability, or mission-driven / social enterprise organizations.
