The Data Architect II is responsible for the overall design, development, and support of the Alliance Enterprise Data Warehouse, the MicroStrategy Data Analytics project, and other enterprise supported data platforms. These responsibilities include defining the data requirements driven by business needs and developing the respective data constructs and processes to support our business intelligence and data analytics initiatives. The Data Architect II provides leadership and guidance to other teams in data modeling, data governance and data quality best practices.This position is fulltime remote. Selected candidate must reside in North Carolina. Some travel for onsite meetings to the Home office at Morrisville may be required. Responsibilities & DutiesAssist with Data StrategySupport the Data Architecture Manager and area Director defining the overall data strategy and architecture including master data management and data governance activities and initiativesAssist in establishing standards and guidelines for the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise supported data platformsAssist in defining and implementing the strategic analytics roadmap for the Enterprise Data Warehouse, MicroStrategy and other enterprise supported data platforms including the overall strategy for data integration and available data sourcesInterpret and deliver impactful plans that support corporate strategy and improve data integration, data quality and data delivery in support of business initiatives and roadmapsGather and Analyze Data requirementsParticipate in business analysis activities to elicit data product requirementsTranslate requirements, including high-level requirements, into technical specifications that will be used to develop the required data constructsPerform data analysis of healthcare datasets and data constructs to get insights into data availability and usage to determine its relationship with development efforts and its integration into enterprise supported data platformsData ModelingDesign, develop and maintain effective data solutions and models to store, retrieve, report, and analyze healthcare data from multiple data sourcesDesign, develop and maintain ETL and ELT processesWork with ETL Developers, BI Report Developers, Data Engineers, and other data-based roles as needed in the design, development, testing, and implementation of data products and solutionsEnsure appropriate quality and consistency of all dataMonitor our data platforms’ performance by executing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new featuresQA / Peer ReviewTest and review data products, processes, solutions, and models to ensure that requirements are met and that they are developed in line with our development standards and best practicesDocumentationFollowing our development standards and best practices, document developed data products. This includes both technical and end-user documentationMaintain and update the organization’s data catalog as necessaryData product supportProvide support on developed data products as requiredProvide technical assistance, collaborate with and exercise cross training opportunities with other team membersMinimum RequirementsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and at last 5 (five) years of experience working as a Data Architect in a multi-dimensional data warehouse with direct involvement and responsibilities supporting an enterprise analytics platform, preferably in a healthcare settingKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesSQL, preferably T-SQLDW/Multidimensional models and star-join schemasAnalysis of large and/or complex datasetsMicroStrategy (or similar BI platform) developmentCommunication and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and in a team settingEmployment for this position is contingent upon a satisfactory background check and credit check, which will be performed after acceptance of an offer of employment and prior to the employee's start date.
