About the position
Responsibilities
• Provide general academic advising and referrals for new, transfer, and continuing students.
• Advise students on University policy and curriculum requirements.
• Stay current with changes in University policies and undergraduate degree programs.
• Advise undeclared students on options for declaring majors and minors.
• Provide specialized advising and resources to enhance student resilience, including tracking probationary students.
• Improve academic advising skills and serve as a resource for University staff and faculty through professional development activities.
• Provide programming in various locations across campus, including classrooms and residence halls.
• Support the management of the Drahmann Tutoring Program in collaboration with the Associate Dean.
• Consult with faculty to identify qualified tutors and present new tutor orientation sessions.
• Assist in coordinating training programs for tutors across campus.
• Manage tutor schedules and drop-in tutoring schedules.
• Identify opportunities to improve the existing tutoring program based on best practices.
• Work on projects to support first-year and transfer advising, registration, and various campus events.
• Collaborate with other offices to help students meet their academic goals.
• Support assessment activities for continual improvement of programs.
Requirements
• Master's Degree or equivalent experience and education.
• 3-5 years of academic advising experience in a related field required.
• Knowledge of integrating developmental and multicultural advising and learning resources services.
• Familiarity with student information systems (PeopleSoft or Workday preferred).
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including effective oral and written communication.
• Proficiency in Google, Microsoft Office, and Symplicity's Insight software.

Benefits
• Annual salary range of $61,100 - $70,250 based on education and experience.
