Student and Family Liaison at PrepNet Virtual Academy
SUMMARY:
The Student and Family Liaison serves as a vital connection between the school, families, and students, particularly in cases of complex family needs, non-participation, chronic absenteeism, and unreachability. This role involves providing comprehensive support to families, ensuring students have the resources and support needed to succeed in a virtual learning environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Build and maintain relationships with families through regular communication.
• Facilitate virtual meetings and check-ins to discuss student progress and address concerns.
• Mileage charges can be submitted under Section 31a for student family liaison activities.
• Track and report on daily activities
• Manage complex student cases through case management.
• Coach parents/guardians to improve or resolve their involvement in their child's education.
• Engage with MIA/invisible families through home visits and family engagement activities.
• Connect families with necessary resources
• Provide information on community programs and services that can assist families.
• Organize events and workshops to foster community among families.
• Support parents/guardians in creating home environments conducive to virtual learning.
• Involve parents/guardians in SIT, PTO, and other school-related activities.
• Empower parents/guardians to advocate for their children's educational needs.
• Support families in navigating school systems and policies.
• Work closely with other schools and community resources to support families and students.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to develop and implement effective engagement strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in education, social work, or a related field.
• Experience working with diverse communities and families.
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in virtual communication tools and platforms.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish or Arabic preferred) are an advantage.
• Self-starter with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in a similar role, virtual environment, or National Heritage Academies is preferred.
