Job Description: The Data Quality Specialist supports the Data Curation team in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of oncology data across the organization. This role will be part of a team leading the design and development of a quality framework for unstructured data processing, while executing proactive data quality initiatives to maintain ≥95% accuracy and prevent downstream errors. The Data Quality Specialist will perform quality checks and audits, run ad hoc data quality checks, maintain documentation, and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Partnering closely with the Product & Data Integrity team and other cross-functional stakeholders, the Data Quality Specialist will identify, document, and resolve data quality issues while continuously improving standards, tools, and workflows. Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and oversee proactive data quality audits across curated datasets. • Build, maintain, and run logic check queries to identify anomalies and errors early in the workflow. • Establish and refine validation processes and logic checks within curation tools. • Conduct and respond to ad hoc data quality reviews in accordance to documented SLAs. • Analyze audit results, document quality issues, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant teams. • Maintain accurate records of audit findings, quality checks, and process improvements. • Monitor quality metrics and report on trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. • Lead root cause analysis of recurring data quality issues and recommend process or documentation changes. • Contribute to the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures, quality assurance strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Champion data quality across the organization. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Health Information Management, Nursing, Data Analytics) or equivalent relevant experience. • 5-8 years of experience in oncology data abstraction, data quality, and data analytics. • Proven experience in health data quality management, health data analysis, or related field. • Knowledge of data abstraction processes and quality control methodologies. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets. • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail. • Effective written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. • Strong SQL or query-writing skills for building and executing logic checks. • Proficient working in multiple electronic health records, data abstraction systems, and workflows. • Competency in documenting processes and procedures. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills (including formulas, pivot tables, data validation) – and other data management tools. • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy. • Proactive approach to identifying and preventing issues. • Strong organizational and time-management skills. • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams. • Analytical thinking and root cause problem-solving. • Adaptability to changing priorities and evolving project requirements. • Initiative in supporting process improvements and data quality initiatives. Preferred Qualifications: • Oncology Nursing experience • Data Analytics Certifications • Experience with SQL, Snowflake and/or Alteryx is a plus. • PowerBI/Tableau experience preferred for data visualization and reporting.
