Technical Consultant / DevOps Advisor – CI/CD, Admin Oversight, and Code Quality - Contract to Hire

We’re looking for someone who’s genuinely great to work with — not just technically sharp, but collaborative, proactive, and invested. We’d rather work with someone who’s an 8 out of 10 technically if they’re a 10 out of 10 when it comes to communication, problem-solving, and shared ownership. This is a hands-on consulting role focused on improving our infrastructure, tightening up dev workflows, and helping us prepare for scale. We’re not looking for a “big title” — just someone thoughtful, experienced, and ready to roll up their sleeves. Key Areas of Focus: CI/CD Setup & Test Automation We’d like support implementing a GitHub Actions and Cypress workflow. Tests should run automatically on push or a daily schedule, with clear visibility of results. Bonus if you can help connect this with the Cypress Dashboard. Admin Access & Oversight We want to confirm we have proper access across key systems, including GitHub, our hosting and database platform (e.g., DigitalOcean), and Cypress. This is about long-term flexibility and ensuring smooth handoffs if we expand the team in the future. Process Transparency & Best Practices Help us document our workflows, organize credentials, and establish better visibility into deployments. We want to build operational hygiene into our development process before scaling further. Code Quality & Scalability Audit We’re looking for a top-level review of our current architecture. Are there areas of technical debt we should clean up? How strong is our current test coverage? If traffic grows significantly, what would break first — and how should we prepare for scale?
