Senior Data Scientist, Payments & Fintech

We’re looking to add a Senior Data Scientist to our payments team to help us measure the impact of product features and experiments, build dashboards to monitor product health and derive user behavior insights that inform product development roadmap and strategy to unlock the next stage of Podium’s growth. Our payments product launched in March 2020 and is already one of the fastest-growing B2B fintech companies in existence. Help us accelerate that growth even further through conversational commerce, point-of-sale products, comprehensive merchant services, and more. What you will be doing: • Working with engineering to implement, document, validate, and monitor our logging and metrics • Crafting simple, dependable data pipelines and automated reporting to surface metrics • Identifying, translating, prioritizing, and informing important product questions with data • Exploring data to find actionable insights and make product recommendations through funnels, cohort analyses, long-term trends, user segmentation, regression models, classification and more • Researching, designing, implementing, and deploying full-stack scalable data analytics vision and machine learning solutions to challenge various business issues • Discovering insights and identifying business opportunities through the use of algorithmic, statistical, visualization, and mining techniques • Setting up, analyzing, and promoting good practices for multivariate experiments and A/B testing • Synthesizing and communicating insights during the product development process • Empowering and guiding others to work effectively and efficiently with data are part of your role • Working towards creating a data-informed culture at Podium What you should have: • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, or Economics required; Masters degree preferred • 2+ years of experience doing quantitative analysis for a technology company • Fluency in SQL, as well as a deep understanding of statistical analysis, experimental design, data visualization tools (e.g. Domo), and common pitfalls of data analysis • Fluency in Python, R, as well as experience working on strategy or full-life cycle data science projects • Experience working with machine learning libraries, for example, XGboost, OpenCV, Scikit-learn, NLTK, TensorFlow, PySurvival etc. Must have deep understanding and experience predictive modeling inclusive of linear and non-Linear regression and time series analysis models whether from Bayesian, frequentist or machine learning perspectives • You are a self-starter: You drive projects with minimal guidance and focus on high impact work • Strong communicator: You effectively synthesize, visualize, and communicate your ideas to others • You are a critical thinker: You are thoughtful, self-aware, and use available evidence to make decisions • You work effectively with teammates and win credibility quickly BENEFITS • Transparent culture • Remote first work setting for Engineering & Product • Great opportunities for career growth • 401k with a competitive matching contribution plan • Unlimited Vacation (yes, we want you to have a work-life balance) • Great medical, dental, vision benefits • One time work from home setup allotment • Life insurance, long and short-term disability coverage • Paid maternity and paternity leave • Swag Podium is an equal opportunity employer.
