Full-Time Structural Engineer – Residential & Light Commercial (U.S. Projects) - Contract to Hire

We are Eyncon Engineering & Surveying, a Texas-based multi-discipline firm providing structural, civil, geotechnical, and MEP engineering services throughout the state. Our projects range from residential foundations and framing to light commercial, metal buildings, and multifamily developments.
We take pride in practical, buildable designs that balance performance and constructability. We’re seeking a full-time structural engineer to join our growing remote team.
Role Overview
The Structural Engineer will support and lead projects involving:
Foundation design (PT, slab-on-grade, pier-and-beam, helical/piers, etc.)
Framing design (wood, steel, CMU, light gauge, and concrete systems)
Evaluation and repair of existing structures (residential and commercial)
Coordination with architects, builders, and drafters
Review and sealing of structural plans (if licensed)
You’ll work closely with other engineers and project managers, producing high-quality deliverables efficiently using modern collaboration tools.
Key Responsibilities
Perform analysis and design for structural systems per IBC, IRC, ACI, AISC, NDS, and ASCE 7
Review architectural drawings and coordinate with clients for constructability
Produce and check structural plans, notes, and calculations
Mentor drafters and junior engineers on detailing and design intent
Participate in QA/QC of deliverables prior to issue
Communicate professionally with builders, architects, and inspectors
(If licensed) review and stamp drawings within your jurisdiction
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Licensed PE (Texas preferred) or EIT actively pursuing PE
3–10 years of experience in structural design for residential or light commercial work
Proficiency in RISA, Enercalc, Forte, Revit, and AutoCAD (or equivalent tools)
Knowledge of Texas soils, foundation movement, and expansive clays a plus
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Work Environment
Full-time, remote position (U.S.-based candidates preferred)
Standard working hours: Central Time (flexible)
