[Remote] Principal Technical Program Manager, Silicon
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Groq is a company focused on next-generation silicon development, and they are seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to lead complex, cross-functional programs. This role involves managing execution across various disciplines to ensure timely delivery while balancing performance, power, and area goals.
Responsibilities
• Work with engineers and engineering managers to ensure on-time execution of silicon deliverables with quality
• Lead Programs: Drive and manage end-to-end projects involving the Silicon design, development, post Si validation, Systems bring up and performance testing
• Cross-Functional Coordination and Technical Guidance: Collaborate with Silicon, Hardware Systems, Validation, Software Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on technical specifications, project goals, and deliverables
• Technical Expertise: Draw upon your silicon engineering experience to provide deep technical guidance on AI chip architectures, interconnects, memory hierarchies, and thermal management to optimize performance and efficiency in datacenter deployments
• Communications: Drive communication internal and external to the engineering teams including leadership reviews, Core team meetings, etc.
• Proactively identify, track, and drive mitigation plans for technical, schedule, supply chain, and quality risks that could impact silicon yields, system reliability, or production ramps
• Provide Programmatic guidance, mentorship, and foster a culture of execution within Silicon and HW System teams
Skills
• 10+ years of Technical program management in Semiconductor, Hardware System design, ideally in AI domains
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Have hands-on experience with either logic design, design verification, or physical design, including taping out at least one chip of significant complexity
• Demonstrated ability to create, maintain, manage complex programs involving multiple technical teams using both ASIC and COT silicon development paradigms
• Demonstrated experience working with external vendors (foundries, IP, etc.), including negotiation of deadlines, holding all parties accountable, etc.
• Understanding of silicon-oriented technologies, methodologies to speak with engineers in their own language
• Experience in managing silicon product cycle from concept to delivery
• Understanding of hardware and software integration challenges
• Experience with project & program management tools and methodologies (e.g., Linear, Waterfall, JIRA)
