Director Strategic Execution
The Director Strategic Execution will lead EQT's efforts to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic opportunities - including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and new venture initiatives - aligned with the company's long-term corporate strategy and capital allocation priorities.
The Director Strategic Execution responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Strategic Leadership & Execution
• Lead the development and execution of corporate strategy, M&A, divestiture, and new venture initiatives that advance EQT's strategic and financial objectives.
• Originate and evaluate transformative opportunities, including emerging energy transition and technology investments, partnerships, and strategic alliances.
• Drive cross-functional alignment across technical, financial, legal, and commercial teams to ensure thorough and efficient diligence, structuring, and execution.
• Partner with executive leadership to define capital allocation priorities and assess portfolio optimization initiatives.
Transaction Oversight
• Oversee all phases of strategic transactions - from origination and financial modeling through negotiation, structuring, and post-closing integration and monitoring.
• Manage external advisors and counterparties to ensure EQT's interests are represented in financial, technical, and commercial negotiations.
• Direct and review sophisticated financial analyses, including complex three-statement models, valuations, sensitivity cases, and scenario analysis across public and private companies.
Market & Industry Insight
• Lead ongoing assessment of industry trends, competitive landscape, and macroeconomic drivers to inform strategic positioning and corporate growth initiatives.
• Develop actionable insights to guide EQT's participation in the energy transition, including potential investments in generation, infrastructure, and digital platforms.
Communication & Influence
• Synthesize complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.
• Present and defend investment theses with clarity, data-driven conviction, and the flexibility to adapt to new insights.
• Mentor and develop team members to enhance EQT's internal bench strength in corporate development and strategic finance.
Required Experience and Skills:
• 6+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or related fields, ideally within energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven track record leading complex transactions and strategic initiatives from concept to completion.
• Strong analytical, modeling, and valuation capabilities, coupled with strategic thinking and sound business judgment.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to distill technical and financial complexity into executive-level insights.
• Leadership experience in managing teams and collaborating across functions to drive outcomes in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee unless willing to relocate.
