Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) engineer

Job Title: Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer Location: Washington, DC 20004 (Hybrid - 3 days onsite/week) Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced VDI Engineer to design, deploy, and manage virtual desktop environments using Azure Virtual Desktop (WVD) or VMware Horizon/Workspace ONE. You will ensure secure, scalable access to enterprise systems, supporting cloud and on-prem infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Architect and manage Azure-based or VMware Horizon VDI solutions Maintain Azure AD, patching, backups, and monitoring services Automate deployments using ARM templates, PowerShell, or DSC Support virtual networks, load balancers, firewalls, and containers Manage tools like SCCM, Kaseya, App-V, and MFT platforms Apply DISA STIGs and support cybersecurity use cases Lead infrastructure planning, upgrades, and high availability systems Requirements: 10+ years of experience in network/system engineering Strong experience in Azure services or VMware Workspace/Horizon Azure or VMware VDI certification (required) Knowledge of automation, scripting (PowerShell), and security practices Excellent communication and team collaboration skills Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science The equivalent combination of education and successful work experience (15 years) and Azure or VMware Workspace/Horizon Certification in specialized areas is a Must.
