Technical Writer/Editor - ManTech - USA - work from home job Company: ManTech Job description: Secure our Nation, Ignite your Future ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented mid-level Technical Writer/Editor to join our team in support of the United States Air Force. This position allows remote work. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Oversee the editing of material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications, User Guides, Operations, Technical Orders (T.O.s), System and Commodity level T. O.s, TCTOs, CSTOs, Technical Manuals, Job Guides, Tutorials, Specifications, and Help Systems • Assist senior technical writing staff with maintaining release management documentation and information as part of the enterprise change and release management processes • Edit the most complex T.O.s by reviewing content for completeness, accuracy, and correctness of language use and revises manuscripts to meet predetermined standards of style and accuracy • Look for inconsistencies of thought, development, or organization • Confer with authors to recommend treatment of material. Reorganizes, cuts, or rewrites as necessary • May edit copy • Provide editorial support to analysts • Responsible for independently editing, designing, and managing the contents of the finished multimedia publications • Responsible for ensuring final products are written with adequate clarity for the intended audience, arranged logically, grammatically correct, adhere to accepted rules of style, and contain the proper security classification caveats and markings as directed by national/DoD/DA guidance • Modify templates developed in Microsoft Word • Provide analysts with expert technical knowledge and advice in planning, coordinating, and the time sequencing involved in the steps required to produce a publication • Research, write, edit, and proofread information for use in documents such as manuals, procedures, and specifications • Provide timely editing support for reports and other documentation generated by the team • Collaborate with technical leads and team members to produce quality documentation • Minimal travel may be required between government customer site - Hill AFB - and contractor site (remote) Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or additional equivalent experience • 4+ years of relevant work experience • Prior experience as a Technical Writer or Editor in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity • Requires formal training in a particular discipline, excellent communications skills, and extensive editing experience • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Preferred Qualifications: • Writing and editing skills and experience, specifically focused on Government technical documentation • Familiarity with SAFe Agile Scrum Development methodologies with a cross-functional team approach • F-16 Avionics experience • ATE experience Security Clearance: • DOD Secret The projected compensation range for this position is $74,200-$123,600. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
