Senior Counsel - Global Export Compliance

We are looking for an experienced Senior Counsel - Global Export Compliance to join the General Electric legal team. This is a critical role in helping the company to ensure that it is compliant with the myriad of international export laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of international trade law and regulations, as well as experience in negotiating and managing export compliance matters.The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. They should demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity, and have the ability to think strategically and identify innovative solutions to complex legal problems. Responsibilities: Assess legal risks associated with international export laws and regulations and develop strategies to mitigate those risks Negotiate and manage export compliance matters Provide legal advice and guidance to the General Electric legal team Develop and implement internal policies and procedures related to international trade compliance Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations Monitor changes in international trade laws and regulations and advise the organization accordingly Provide training and guidance on export compliance issues to internal stakeholders Liaise with external stakeholders such as government agencies, vendors, and other third parties Draft and review export-related contracts Represent the organization in legal proceedings related to export compliance matters General Electric is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
