AI Engineer (Full Stack, RAG focus)
Overview
• Build the first working version of an AI tutor geared towards the investment industry — ingestion → retrieval → lesson/Q&A UX → news drill-down — end-to-end.
• The role comprises backend engineering and the frontend product layer.
Details
• Immediate start.
• Contract-for-hire: 3 to 6 month project at $6k-$12k, depending on qualifications and project scope, with opportunity for full-time hire afterwards.
• Remote work OK; founder in NY.
Candidate must be able to:
• Build a system that ingests PDFs/HTML, stores embeddings, retrieves text chunks, and feeds them to an LLM.
• Understand chunking, semantic vs keyword search, and reranking.
• Tune retrieval precision/recall, handle citations, and implement “no source → no claim” logic.
