Front-End Developer (Shopify)

ECOM DEPARTMENT is a growing full-service digital agency primarily working in the fashion and lifestyle space. We are looking for a full-time, remote front-end developer that is passionate about their work, who is able to bring design elements to life, and collaborate in an agile environment. The ideal candidate will see beyond code, will have a proactive approach, and be a team player who can contribute in strategic planning for clients. Requirements ? Build and maintain eCommerce sites with Shopify Plus or Shopify ? Build reusable code for future use ? Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability ? Collaborate with internal teams and handle client communications ? Translate requirements and designs (preferably Figma) into fully functioning eCommerce sites using HTML/CSS/Liquid/JS ? Implementing third-party solutions & apps ? Troubleshooting bugs ? Implement UI designs in HTML/CSS/JS based on design mockups provided by designer ? A desire for education and growth with the latest development techniques and best practices ? Must be located in the United States or Canada Technical Requirements ? 3+ years of experience in front-end development ? 2+ years of agency experience with Shopify Plus or Shopify ? Possess strong technical and design skills including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ? Proficient understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such asSASS, SCSS ? Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and Javascript frameworks ? Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as GIT ? Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways towork around them ? Good understanding of API integration ? Good understanding of SEO principles and best practices ? Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical team members and/or clients ? Excellent time management, problem-solving, teamwork, andcommunication skills Bonus Skills ? Experience working with other eCommerce platforms (Magento, etc.) ? Understanding of conversion rate optimization or data-driven product development (analytics, a/b testing, etc.) ? Versed in agile development and best practices ? Experience working with Ruby and Ruby on Rails ?
