Job Summary

The Data Entry Pharmacy Technician position at blithequark is a critical component of our pharmacy operations team. As a skilled technician, you will be responsible for entering and processing new prescriptions into our pharmacy computer system, under the direction of our supervising pharmacists. Your attention to detail, knowledge of pharmacy regulations, and ability to work efficiently will ensure that our patients receive their medications in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter prescription and physician order data into our pharmacy data processing system(s) with accuracy and timeliness to eliminate errors at dispensing
  • Demonstrate knowledge of reconstituting medications as required
  • Triage incoming fax prescriptions to ensure timely dispensing
  • Ensure proper notes in the computer system and cycle fill coding
  • Calculate and/or verify the correct dosage based on the prescription
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to calls from patients and customers in a caring, understanding, and courteous manner
  • Develop proficiency in the utilization of all pharmacy systems, including document imaging and legacy pharmacy computer operating systems
  • Assist with inventory management, inventory counts, and other tasks as needed
  • Participate in the coordination, scheduling, and preparation of medication deliveries
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team to promote teamwork, cooperation, and communication to attain company and departmental goals

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Current state registration as a pharmacy technician in good standing
  • Pharmacy technician certification required
  • ACPE IV Certification required
  • Long term care experience is required
  • Framework and Docu-track experience are strongly preferred
  • Intermediate level of computer knowledge skills and proficiency, with the ability to adapt to new and evolving technologies
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and productively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously with patients, customers, and colleagues
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently
