Job Overview and Key Responsibilities

As a Co-op student in our Cargo Safety, Security, and Compliance team, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and initiatives that support the development of enhancements and improvements in our safety, security, and compliance efforts. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Cargo Safety, Security, and Compliance team with ongoing development of enhancements and improvements
• Proposing ideas for continuous improvement in processing and tracking effectiveness
• Implementing project management skills and practices
• Recording results in a database and developing metrics to analyze performance
• Measuring and analyzing current performance
• Working across business units with various stakeholders in a professional setting
• Providing process engineering and/or internal consulting services
• Participating in data collection efforts for projects that impact cross-functional departments
• Identifying and implementing improvements to existing processes to increase efficiency, productivity, and performance
• Recommending ideas for new ways to provide optimal customer service and evaluating safety/compliance impact of proposed operational changes

Teams You Will Support

You will have the opportunity to work with various teams, including:

• Cargo Safety: responsible for the Cargo Safety Management System (SMS), injury and damage investigations, occupational safety and health (OSHA) initiatives, ergonomics, employee reporting programs (ASAP), emergency response, safety recognition, and ground standards assurance
• Cargo Compliance (Regulatory): ensures regulatory acquiescence by developing policy and procedures for global cargo operations
• Cargo Compliance (Security): ensures that cargo acceptance and screening operations are maintaining compliance with TSA regulations across our system
• Cargo Policy and Procedure: engages with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Cargo policies and procedures are understandable and updated in compliance with industry regulations
• Pharmaceuticals: responsible for implementing a quality management system (QMS) within pharmaceuticals and other specialty cargo operations

Minimum Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must:

• Be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a 4-year academic institution throughout the co-op program
• Be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office on a full-time basis as an undergraduate student during the following 3 alternating semesters: Spring 2026, Fall 2026, and Summer 2027
• Be enrolled in one of the following or similar studies: Business Administration and Management, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Aviation/Aeronautics/Aeronautical Science/Aviation Management/Aviation Operations, Management/Aviation Operations, Occupational Health and Safety, Aviation Safety, Information Systems
• Have strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
• Demonstrate the ability to work on multiple assignments with strict deadlines and function effectively under pressure
• Have strong organizational, problem-solving skills, and verbal/written communication skills
• Be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
• Have general administrative skills, including scheduling meetings, coordinating speakers and attendees, and taking and publishing meeting notes
• Have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0-point scale
• Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency

• Have a passion for aviation or a keen interest in learning and contributing to the aviation industry
• Have a degree specialization in aviation, supply chain, cargo, logistics, security
• Have experience with Quality Control/Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• Be confident in PowerPoint and presentation creation, with experience building executive decks
• Have strong presentation skills in front of leaders and large groups
• Be familiar with airline operations
• Have project management experience
