Female Ghostwriter Needed – 1880s Victorian Historical Romance (London, Boston) - 1st draft done
I am seeking an experienced female ghostwriter to rewrite and elevate a completed first-draft manuscript into a polished Victorian historical romance novel, set in the 1880s across London and Boston.
May NOT use AI from this point onward. Needs authentic great writing.
The story is complete, but the manuscript was written by a rookie romance author and requires a confident rewrite to significantly improve prose, sentence construction, emotional depth, and narrative flow using show, don’t tell and deep POV techniques.
This is Book One of a planned three-book series. A UK-based content editor (Victorian and literary expert) will be involved throughout the process (at the end of each milestone).

- Length: approximately 80,000 words
- Structure: 50 chapters, 1,500–3,000 words each
- Status: First draft completed
- May include 2–3 medium-level intimate scenes, only where narratively relevant
- Project timeline: Writing will be an initial 3 weeks for 1st milestone, then 6 weeks for milestone 2.
- Release Target: July 2026
Scope of Work (Full Project):
- Substantial rewrite (not from scratch)
- Fix prose, sentence construction, pacing, and voice
- Apply show, don’t tell and deep POV
- Strengthen romantic arc and dialogue
- Include 2–3 medium-level intimate scenes, only where narratively relevant
Budget & Milestones (USD):
- $200 – Chapters 1–10 (3 weeks)
- $600 – Remainder of manuscript (6 weeks)
- $100 – Final polish (2 weeks)
- $50 – Advice on cover direction & book blurb (3 days) (Cover/blurb advice may be requested earlier for pre-order setup.)
Total: $950
Application Requirements:
1. Brief summary of relevant experience
2. A short writing sample only (Victorian/historical preferred)
Selection Timeline:
- Contract Decision by: Early Jan 2026

This role is ideal for a ghostwriter who enjoys deep rewriting, emotional nuance, and historical authenticity, with potential for long-term collaboration on the series.
