About Mira Mira is a San Francisco-based hormonal health company providing integrative care and hormonal testing for over 200,000 customers. In 2023, they were recognized by Inc. 5000 as America's fastest-growing femtech company. We started our company to help women and individuals reach their parenthood dreams and make their fertility journey smoother. Mira’s most important breakthrough was inventing the market's only FDA-compliant at-home fertility monitor with quantitative technology. Since the beginning, they have been on a mission to develop data-driven hormonal health solutions to help women make confident health decisions during every stage of their lives—from the menstrual stage to menopause. Mira offers solutions to test, boost, and navigate fertility—starting from comprehensive hormone testing and supplements to fertility coaching and online courses. We are committed to helping our customers achieve the highest possible success rates and outcomes; that is why our focus is on personalized care, the use of the most cutting-edge technology, and science-backed data. About The Position We are seeking an experienced Patent Lawyer with a strong background in in vitro diagnostics (IVD) and medical device regulations to support our growing intellectual property strategy. You will play a critical role in protecting our core innovations, managing global patent filings, and ensuring compliance with relevant IP and regulatory frameworks. This is a highly collaborative position, working closely with R&D, regulatory, legal, and executive leadership teams. Requirements • Licensed to practice before a patent office (e.g., USPTO or equivalent). • 5+ years of patent law experience, preferably in a medical device or life sciences company. • Proven experience with IVD technologies, diagnostics, or related biotech fields. • Strong understanding of patentability, freedom-to-operate, and regulatory-IP intersections. • Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills. • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities • Develop and execute IP strategies aligned with the company’s business goals, focusing on IVD technology and medical devices. • Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications in the U.S. and internationally. • Manage patent portfolios, conduct prior art searches, and analyze freedom-to-operate. • Advise internal teams on IP protection, patentability, and potential risks. • Support trademark strategy and protection where needed. • Collaborate with R&D and product teams to identify inventions and ensure timely filings. • Handle IP-related agreements (e.g., licensing, collaborations). • Monitor competitors’ IP activity and support strategic decisions on patent challenges or enforcement. • Coordinate with external patent agents or local counsel as required. Benefits • The chance to work with a dedicated, highly engaged, international team passionate about advancing women’s health—from TTC to hormone balance, perimenopause, and beyond. • A fast-paced, collaborative environment where open communication, ownership, and independence are encouraged. • Competitive salary plus a performance-based bonus system tied to OKRs. • Benefits include paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave. • Professional development opportunities through training courses, workshops, and seminars.
