Shopify Designer/Developer Needed to Rebuild Premium Wellness Website (Design-Led + Content-Focused)

We are a new, premium metabolic wellness brand launching a new product. Our packaging is already designed and sets a strong visual direction: elevated, warm, modern, and editorial (not “typical supplement” branding). We have an initial Shopify site live, but it’s a rough first draft. We now want a full redesign and rebuild that: - Matches the aesthetic and quality of our packaging - Feels premium, trustworthy, and science-backed - Is easy for a non-technical founder to update in the future (no code) - Has a strong content foundation (blog + educational pages + science/clinical content) All copy for the main pages is already written. • ******** SCOPE OF WORK You will be responsible for: - Overall UX/UI design and visual direction (based on our packaging + brand guidance) - Shopify theme customization (or light custom theme) using modular sections - Building all key pages and templates - Ensuring everything is easy to edit via the Shopify customizer / CMS - Implementing a flexible content system for blog and educational pages We will provide: - Final packaging design (to anchor aesthetics) - Brand colors and fonts (or guidance) - Full copy for all core pages (homepage, PDP, science, clinical, etc.) - Initial image direction and rough moodboard • ****** PAGES TO BUILD You will build (or rebuild) the following pages in Shopify: - Homepage – hero, triple-action section, timeline, “how it works,” ingredient overview, badges, CTA - Product Detail Page (PDP) – conversion-focused, with clear benefits, ingredients, FAQs, and trust elements - Science Page – long-form explanation of mechanisms in a visual, scannable way (sections, diagrams, expandable blocks) - Clinical Research Page – summaries of studies, timelines, graphs, “for the nerds” section - How It Works – simple, visual explanation of the ritual and mechanisms - About – brand philosophy and positioning - FAQ – structured, easy to update - Blog Landing Page – category filters, featured article, clear layout - Blog Article Template – flexible, supports images, pull quotes, related posts, CTAs - Contact Page - Legal pages (ToS, Privacy, etc.) - Header & Footer – clean navigation, integrated email capture The content/blog structure is strategically important to this brand, not an afterthought. • ******* REQUIREMENTS 1) Design & Aesthetic - Strong portfolio of premium DTC Shopify sites, ideally in wellness, beauty, or CPG - Ability to translate packaging into a full web system (colors, typography, layout, photography style) - Comfort designing around both lifestyle imagery and light “science” visuals (simple graphs, icons, timelines) 2) Shopify & Technical - Deep experience in Shopify theme customization (Dawn or similar high-quality base theme is fine) - Ability to create modular, reusable sections: hero blocks, ingredient grids, timelines, content cards, FAQ accordions. blog layouts - Clean, maintainable implementation so non-technical users can edit copy, images, and blocks without touching code - Fully responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile 3) Content & UX - Experience building sites where education and storytelling matter (not just a single product page) - Strong understanding of readability: headings, spacing, visual hierarchy, easy scanning - Comfortable laying out long-form content (science/clinical pages) in a way that feels light and modern (cards, accordions, diagrams), not like a wall of text 4) Performance & Best Practices - Fast-loading, optimized images - SEO fundamentals (semantic HTML, proper heading structure, meta tags, alt text) - Accessibility-conscious design 5) Handoff Short Loom/video walkthrough of: - How to edit each major section - How to publish blog posts and connect them to the rest of the site Simple written documentation for: - Sections and blocks - Best practices when updating content • ****** HOW TO APPLY Please include: - 3–5 Shopify sites you’ve designed and built that you’re most proud of (preferably DTC wellness/beauty/CPG). - A short note on how you approach translating packaging/brand into a website. - A brief description of how you would set up the blog and content system so that we can easily publish science-backed and educational content going forward. - Your estimated timeline and budget range for this project.
