About the position 40|86 is hiring a Sr. Security Valuation & Credit Loss Analyst who will provide direct support to mid-level business or functional leaders of 40|86 Advisors with valuation and credit loss recommendations generated through technical analysis within a Sarbanes-Oxley controlled work environment. This position will also have responsibility to support in generating and reviewing for reasonableness the Transaction and Attribution reports and will assist in gathering and producing this information to 40|86 front office staff such as traders, portfolio managers and research staff. The Senior will prepare deliverables to support both internal and external financial reporting and audit needs. The Senior is also responsible for identifying process improvements and value-added project work while maintaining business continuity and timely reporting. Responsibilities • Directly partnering with 40|86 Front Office and impacted 40|86 associates to review and analyze Valuation, Transactions, and Attribution results that are part of regularly scheduled monthly and quarterly meetings. • Supporting the 4-day security pricing process from data gathering and aggregation, report preparation, analyzing pricing from brokers and vendors, reviewing and documenting pricing results for unusual trends or fluctuations, and setting up meeting with 40|86 Front Office and key 40|86 associates. • Preparing final Pricing data for monthly financial reporting; preparing Pricing documentation for audit review. • Assisting in the aggregation of investment transaction information for all 40|86 asset classes. Preparing weekly preliminary Transactions report and reviewing reporting results to ensure reasonableness of data (yields, par, gain/loss, credit rating, ESG rating); providing final Transactions report and presenting to 40|86 President, 40|86 Front Office, and key 40|86 associates. • Assisting in the aggregation of investment information for all 40|86 asset classes to create monthly Attribution reports and reviewing the report results to ensure reasonableness of the data (outperformance results, outperformance details, outperformance contribution by sector, yield curve outperformance contribution, best & worst securities by security selection contribution) and providing and presenting final Attribution report to 40|86 President, 40|86 Front Office, and key 40|86 associates. • Performing other month-end/quarter-end or ad hoc work requiring analysis as needed. • Processing Improvement Opportunities (Analyzing current processes and procedures, identifying areas of improvement/efficiencies and areas for automation and risk reduction). • Maintaining adequate documentation and controls over security Pricing, Credit Loss, Transactions, and Attribution processes.
