Program Overview

The Actuarial Improvement Program at arenaflex is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the actuarial field and the skills needed to succeed in this exciting and rewarding career. The program is divided into four rotations, each of which will immerse you in a key business area and provide you with exposure to a range of activities, including:

  • Risk Evaluation: Understanding the concept of specific risks and presenting the results of analysis to management
  • Rate Filing: Ordering and analyzing filing data, preparing and submitting necessary presentations for regulatory filings
  • Reserve Analysis: Analyzing claim data and monitoring reserve levels for adequacy, demonstrating an understanding of actuarial reserving methods and issues
  • Planning and Budgeting: Providing technical support and analysis for planning, pricing, and reporting processes
  • Pricing, Trend, and Benefit Design: Creating and recommending pricing and trend for products or benefits
  • Technical Capability: Developing innovative technical solutions to various problems, demonstrating proficiency with spreadsheets and knowledge of database and online applications
  • Mobility: arenaflex follows a hybrid work model, giving office-based associates the flexibility to work from home or in the office, depending on the work that needs to be accomplished. Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates who need to move more than 50 miles
  • Work visa sponsorship is available for this role, including participation in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F-1 Visa programs

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Meet educational requirements (see education section)
  • Be willing to relocate to a designated Actuarial hub

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Internship or work experience supporting Actuarial aspects of an organization or business unit
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, such as active roles in student or social organization activities, or sports
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Experience with statistical or coding software, such as SAS, Python, Excel, VBA, SQL, or R
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Support collaboration and a positive attitude to enhance team effectiveness
  • Be adaptable and able to quickly and effectively adjust to change

Skills and Competencies

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including:
