Hydrogeologist (0341) (Hybrid)
The Southwest Florida Water Management District is a government agency focused on protecting water resources and minimizing flood risks. They are seeking a Hydrogeologist to support the Water Use Permit Compliance section by analyzing hydrologic data and ensuring compliance with water use permits.
Responsibilities
- Applies knowledge of geology/hydrogeology when reviewing supporting documentation submitted with water use permit applications
- Verifies Permittees are in compliance with conditions on water use permits
- Uses computer software to analyze and interpret hydrologic data from well logs, test data, file of record database information
- Assesses groundwater and or surface water movement to ensure reasonable assurance criteria are satisfied prior to WUP issuance
- Communicates scientific and technical information in various formats including graphs and charts
- Answers questions and provide technical assistance internally and members of the public when appropriate

- Bachelors in Hydrology or Geology for Hydrogeologist 1
- Bachelors in Hydrology or Geology for Hydrogeologist 2
- Bachelors in Hydrology or Geology for Hydrogeologist 3
- 0 years of experience for Hydrogeologist 1
- 2 years of experience for Hydrogeologist 2
- 4 years of experience for Hydrogeologist 3
- PG/PE certification for Hydrogeologist 3
- Valid Drivers License required for all positions
- Environmental science related experience
- Wetlands knowledge or background that is supported by education and/or work experience
