[Remote] Junior Systems Engineer -DevOps (BID)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. RemoteHunter is a CVE Certified, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business specializing in management consulting for the federal government. They are seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to support operations at a software development hub with a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Responsibilities

• Streamline the software development life cycle from requirements to production monitoring
• Incorporate open-source tools, automation, and cloud resources to improve workflow efficiency
• Implement continuous integration and delivery to reduce manual testing and troubleshooting
• Identify and build solutions to meet customer challenges
• Support Linux systems engineering efforts in system design, solution engineering, software development, or system administration
• Administer container platforms such as Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, or EKS
• Develop infrastructure as code and custom automation scripts using Ansible, Python, Bash, or Terraform
• Work with complex build systems

Skills

• US citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S
• Residency in the US for at least the past 3 consecutive years (36 months)
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field OR 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• At least 1 year of experience supporting Linux systems engineering
• At least 1 year of experience administering container platforms (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, EKS)
• At least 1 year of experience with advanced scripting languages and automation tools (Ansible, Python, Bash, Terraform)
• Experience with complex build systems
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies or software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Experience developing back-end software applications
• Experience with cloud service providers such as AWS or Azure for automated DevSecOps pipelines
• Experience with Opensearch cluster configuration and index lifecycle management
• Knowledge of security scanning tools and vulnerability remediation
• Knowledge of Java
