Job Description

CONTEXT

The purpose of the Marketing BU is to sustainably maximise cash flows from the marketing of Anglo American products and services. In support of this, we have set ourselves a target to deliver a considerable uplift in Value by 2030.

The Base Metals Marketing teams is a critical and significant contributor to the Marketing EBIT target. Critical in the delivery of the BM strategy is the role of Marketing, Sales and Trading within risk tolerances and governance frameworks.

PURPOSE

The Financial Trading team is aiming to deliver additional value by implementing trading strategies to exploit opportunities through asset-backed refined copper trading, third party physical metals trading, and financial trading across the base metals complex. The aim of our trading strategy is to become one of the top base metals trading businesses in the world within the next 5 years, in terms of volume and profit generation.

In order to achieve our ambitious goals, we will leverage our equity production, our client relationships and our network/sales operations activities.

The task of building up and growing this business could be seen as one of the most exciting and challenging tasks in the mining/trading industries.
