Assistant Underwriter
A-G Specialty Insurance is a leader in the sports insurance industry, specializing in underwriting and marketing specialty insurance products. The Assistant Underwriter will support the underwriting process by managing risk assessments, issuing quotes, and maintaining client data files under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Managing monthly special risk renewals at direction of UW Staff, issuing special risk quotes under supervision of UW Staff, Issuing policies under supervision of UW staff
- Manage monthly special risk renewals at direction of UW Staff
- Review and submit carrier quote requests providing comprehensive and accurate data, while making requests for additional information as necessary
- Issue special risk quotes under supervision of UW Staff
- Provide accurate quoting and loss reporting upon request
- Manage all contracted Third Party Administrator client data files including policy profiles in claims processing software
- Document and organize all Underwriting files, and update system daily
- Interact with sales team, brokers and carriers with a focus on delivering applications and policy documents
- Proactively problem solve to balance and manage client/broker expectations with internal service standards
- Accurately write policies in accordance with contracted carrier policies and state mandated guidelines
- Manage workflow in order to meet all internal and external underwriting deadlines
- Work well and continually show respect for colleagues at all levels
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree
- 1-3 years' insurance/underwriting experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Self-motivated and self-starter
- Strong multi-tasking skills and organization
