OFFICE TECHNICIAN (TYPING)
California Department of Social Services is committed to serving, protecting, and supporting the people of California. They are seeking an Office Technician (Typing) to provide administrative support to the State Hearings Division, including processing documents and acting as a point of contact for various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provide all necessary administrative support to the State Hearings Division and its Administrative Law Judges (ALJs) by: Receiving and processing documents received via mail, fax/e-fax, email, Secure File Transfer (SFT), verifying information, scanning documents to be added in to a shared database, sorting and organizing documents in preparation for entering hearing request data in the Appeals Case Management System (ACMS) and distributing to other bureaus
- Reviewing and processing requests for authorized representatives, withdrawal and postponement tasks in ACMS
- Uploading documents, and applying notes to the hearing request or claimant's profile on ACMS
- Act as point of contact for Covered California, county representatives, claimants, and authorized representatives
- Respond to inquires or direct to appropriate party for response
- Answering customer service mail line, distributing mail and covering the receptionist desk
- Photocopy, file, fax, and secure disposal or storage of SHD documents
- Perform other duties or special projects as required in support of the SHD
Skills
- The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired
- The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired
- Applicants that do not answer the three (3) questions listed below will not be considered for this job
- You are required to complete employment history on the application form (STD 678). You may be disqualified from the hiring and selection process if the employment history is inaccurate or incomplete
- If you are meeting minimum qualifications with education, you must include your unofficial transcripts for verification
- Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview, but they must provide proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for appointment
- Completed applications and all required documents must be received or postmarked by the Final Filing Date in order to be considered
