About This Position :
Work from home for an important project under the direction of the Branch of Geo Data Examination and Validation. Coordinate with federal government GIS specialists, Program Analysts, and Physical Scientists. Respond to project requests involving the use of various technologies such as Smartsheet.GOV and the ESRI Suite of GIS software.
This role requires a Geographic Information Systems Analyst who can dependably and reliably work full-time from home using government-furnished equipment such as a laptop, collaborating with team members remotely as needed. Essential Functions & Required Knowledge
Degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or related fields
Knowledge of legal land descriptions, right of ways & leases
Knowledge of geographic / cartographic sciences, interdisciplinary resource management, and database management to administer geospatial databases
Knowledge of appropriate database design principles to identify interrelationships within GIS data
Implement analytical techniques necessary to solve recurring, procedural, and factual geospatial and GIS issues
Administer geospatial databases and implement quality control and assurance guidelines for geospatial data projects within ESRI parcel fabric environment
Participate on interdisciplinary teams with various stakeholders such as other federal agencies, Regional Geospatial Coordinators, and other divisions on various mapping projects
Implement analytical techniques necessary to solve recurring, procedural, and factual geospatial and GIS issues (e.g., identifying data needs for specific projects, determining compatibility with other platforms, locating missing information)
Knowledge of standardized geospatial and GIS software / hardware applicable to the Bureau of Indian Affairs / tribes
Ability to develop and maintain metadata for all GIS projects for the Division
Regular, dependable attendance

This position routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as laptops, computers, and phones in a work-from-home environment
The physical requirements of this position are described as sedentary
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time; walking and standing are required only occasionally
