About the Job

In this exciting full-time remote work opportunity, you will join arenaflex's growing Bookkeeping team as a Data Entry and Bookkeeping Specialist. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional groups, analyzing data, and driving process improvements. Your expertise in bookkeeping, data analysis, and problem-solving will be essential in this role, and you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who share your passion for innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Technical Accounting, Functional Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and other stakeholders on policies, processes, and projects, and help drive key framework initiatives and improvements
  • Develop and design comprehensive accounting data requirements to facilitate the seamless automation of journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficiency in financial cycles
  • Lead functional improvement initiatives to further streamline revenue tasks and shorten the revenue close schedule
  • Monitor data quality of journal entries prepared via the Revenue Subledger and design Data Quality checks for identified use cases through accounting requirements design, ad-hoc analyses, new product launches, etc.
  • Work with the Product and Engineering teams to continuously improve our daily Revenue Reconciliation process and manage reconciliation analysis with the help of the analytics team
  • Review new product designs presented during internal Financial Compliance meetings and evaluate the impact on existing or need for new accounting requirements for the Revenue Subledger
  • Cross-collaborate with collaborating teams on the journal entry streams for new or existing products for automation via the Revenue Subledger
  • Perform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities, including but not limited to: GAAP revenue analysis, cost of revenue analysis, accounts receivable reconciliations, review journal entries, and review close package expectations
  • Ad-hoc analyses and projects as assigned

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analysis, or business intelligence
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition required; knowledge of IFRS a plus
  • Intermediate/advanced SQL skills and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data, Python a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both internally and externally

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of accounting software and systems, such as ERP and accounting platforms
  • Experience with process improvement and automation initiatives
  • Certifications in accounting or related fields, such as CPA or CMA
