[Remote] Legal Fellow - Human Frontier Collective (US)

Scale AI is dedicated to developing reliable AI systems for critical decisions, and they are seeking a Legal Fellow for the Human Frontier Collective Fellowship. The role involves collaborating on high-impact projects, contributing to research publications, and engaging with a network of innovators in the AI field.

Responsibilities

• Collaborative Work: Get invited to engage in high-impact projects with our partnered AI labs and platforms. Design complex real-world scenarios, evaluating model outputs for accuracy and regulatory alignment, and providing targeted feedback to improve performance across domains like compliance, litigation, case law, and contract analysis
• Join the HFC Community: Beyond the work, you’ll become part of a supportive, interdisciplinary network of innovators and thought leaders committed to advancing frontier AI across domains
• Contribute to Research Publications: Collaborate with Scale’s research team to co-author technical reports and research papers—boosting your academic visibility and professional recognition

Skills

• JD, LLM, or currently enrolled in a prestigious 2L/3L program
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this role
• Demonstrated expertise in legal research, analysis of regulatory frameworks, constitutional law, case law interpretation, and drafting legal briefs
• Detail-oriented, innovative thinker with a passion for financial technology and a commitment to collaboration
• Bar admission in any jurisdiction strongly preferred
• Experience as Attorney/Associate, Legal Analyst, Counsel, Law Clerk, In-House Counsel, Legal Researcher, or Law Professor
• Prior experience with AI is not required, but a plus
